Are there Dankookians (Students of Dankook University) experiencing mixed days and nights? Many students lose their rhythm during vacation, leading to lethargy and a loss of concentration when the semester starts. Despite efforts to establish a regular rhythm of life through various methods, recovering from the disrupted rhythm is difficult. To overcome these post-vacation effects, it is essential to maintain a regular schedule, waking up and going to bed at consistent times. The Dankook Herald (DKH) reporters have researched and implemented various methods to regain the daily rhythm over the past five days, adhering to the rule of waking up at 7 a.m. and going to bed at 12 p.m.

Reporter Park had irregular sleeping patterns. She was accustomed to staying up late at night or falling asleep in the early hours of the morning. To change her sleep pattern, she tried various strategies. She used pillow mist containing ingredients that promote sleepiness and wore a heated eye mask. Additionally, she incorporated daytime walks and increased her outdoor activities. To aid in waking up, she took showers or stretched her body. "At first, it was very difficult to fall asleep and wake up. But after 2 days, I found myself feeling tired at the designated times," said reporter Park. She faced a significant challenge at the beginning of the endeavor due to sleeping less than usual. However, adhering to a regular schedule made her more resilient!

Deputy Director Jeong experienced insomnia due to having meals late at night after finishing their part-time job. To shift his bedtime to midnight, he adjusted his mealtime to 4 p.m. and ensured he had a substantial meal to avoid feeling hungry when going to bed. He also engaged in active exercises to avoid smartphone usage and minimize exposure to electronic waves during his free time throughout the challenge. However, these adjustments made him feel more fatigued during the day. He emphasized the importance of rescheduling bedtime according to one's lifestyle to maintain a routine. Additionally, he stressed that sufficient sleep is equally essential as the timing of bedtime.

For reporter Hong, who typically struggled to fall asleep past midnight, the challenge of going to bed at midnight was no easy feat. To induce sleep, she turned to documentary series known for promoting relaxation or listened to her favorite songs. Additionally, drawing from memories of deep slumber after intense workouts, she visited the boxing gym. When she woke up at 7 in the morning, airing out the room and feeling the breeze helped rouse her from sleep. While adhering to set waking and sleeping times posed some difficulty, mainly rising early in the morning, she found that this allowed her to allocate more time to productive activities, making the day feel longer and more fulfilling.

All reporters agreed that maintaining a regular lifestyle depends on how the day lived. They emphasized that since today's routine impacts tomorrow's, consistently adhering to a regular schedule makes it easier to maintain over time. The DKH hopes that Dankookians will figure out their daily rhythm promptly and enjoy their school life once the semester begins. The challenge of DKH will continue to assist Dankookians in leading fulfilling lives in the future.
